Where Faultline wins
An MCP server and agent-operable API. The big one, and Better Stack has nothing like it. Point Claude at Faultline and it can diagnose incidents, see who's on call, and, with your approval, run a runbook to remediate. Same agent loop in the CLI and Slack.
Natural-language monitor creation. "Watch checkout every 30s, alert after 2 failures" becomes a validated monitor. Better Stack has no equivalent.
Docker and ECS health checks. First-class monitor types with real checkers. Better Stack is weak here.
Auto-executing runbooks with verify-recovery. When an incident opens, the fix runs itself, then Faultline reads the service status back 120 seconds later and escalates to a human if it didn't actually recover.
Incident memory. Every resolved incident is embedded and becomes precedent, so the next diagnosis can cite the past incident that fixed this one.
AI bundled in every tier, including free. Summaries, post-mortems, anomaly detection, and the MCP server are not gated behind a higher plan.

Bottom line
If you need multi-region quorum or synthetic flows today, pick Better Stack. If you want your AI agent to actually operate your incidents, diagnose, recommend, and remediate behind an approval gate, Faultline is the only one of the two that can do it, and the AI comes in every tier.
